Ms. Key's 7th grade Career Exploration classes and gracious community members had a phenomenal day of mock interviews at the Jourdanton Junior High! These students prepared résumés and cover letters, as well as practiced interview etiquette, posture, and eye contact in preparation for this event. The goal of these interviews were to allow students the opportunity to practice what a real interview would be like, as well as gain exposure to the variety of occupations out there. Our community members represented industries such as, oil and gas, medical field, mechanics, welding, law enforcement, military, administration, education, real estate, digital design, entrepreneurship, and more. What a great day at JJHS!
Elementary parents, there will be a mandatory parent volunteer meeting for anyone interested in helping this year. The date will be October 1. There are two sessions to choose from one at 9am and the other at 2pm. Please call the Elementary Office to RSVP.

We will be going over how to read and understand a transcript and discussing graduation requirements. In addition, we are also looking for about 8-10 parents and community members who would be willing to serve on our Strategic Planning Committee. The Strategic Planning Committee will review the survey results and help us define our direction and goals. We will then collectively develop a plan to achieve them.

JISD originally had a substitute teacher training scheduled for September 12. We are going to have to reschedule this training. We will keep you up to date on when that will be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
The Board of Trustees recognized Ava Saunders and Gabryelle Mata for placing 8th at nationals in the FCCLA competition coached by Mrs Garcia. They also recognized several drivers from our transportation department. Michelle Saenz, Paul Steffek, and Rosie Gonzalez. We are proud of our staff and students!!
